Left fielder Hideki Matsui slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Tampico Stogies topped the Burbank Tigers by a score of 10 to 1 at Pro Player Stadium. The Burbank fans didn't appreciate the big day Matsui had. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 5th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 29th of the season) in the 6th inning. Tampico had 16 hits for the afternoon while Burbank had 11. The win was credited to Carl Pavano(11-14) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run. Scott Elarton(2-12) took the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
